Replying to @JustMike not surprisingly, not only will the sports card breakers that are still streaming live on Whatnot for backyard brakes not comment on the situation with Grant. If you say even the slightest thing, they don’t like they will ban you from the show. You have to love the transparency and the fact that Whatnot is operating like nothing happened. The fact that some sports cards are worth money is truly epic and awesome, but I don’t think that’s what encapsulates or stands for what the hobby means to a lot of collectors. It’s unlocking the core memories finding another way to connect with the players in the game. it’s about the pure joy of collecting. In today’s modern hobby of sports card collecting I think that can be lost on some end hopefully we can get more of that back. Anyone else tired of seeing these huge sports cards being pulled by breakers or Sports Cards stores prior to when the product is actually even supposed to be released? With PSA announcing to get a PSA 10 the centering can’t be less than 55/45 when it used to be 60/40 will this devalue current and older PSA tens? Or will this just make newer PSA 10 worth more? Or no effect at all. When we typically talk about sports card breaks being addictive, we more refer to the people participating in them. But the addiction can absolutely swing to the breakers themselves. Huge highs and lows for the sports card breaker coupled with working insane hours deep into the early mornings may cause some mental physical issues. How much you get for that sports card you’re trying to sell all depends on who you’re trying to sell it to. If you’re looking to get a price close or even more than comps or comparables then you have to target collectors. If you go to a sports card store or a sports card show trying to sell that card to other people that are in the business of selling sports cards and trading cards You can’t expect to get 100% of comps. They need to make money on the sale as well the trick is what is the price point where you can both walk away happy and making a profit.
