Back then, I was stuck in a cycle of restricting, overanalyzing every calorie, and striving to shrink myself as much as possible—physically and emotionally. But here’s the truth: gaining weight didn’t just transform my body—it transformed me. ✨ I grew my glutes 5x the size—turns out, muscle doesn’t build on fear and restriction, it grows with proper fuel and care. ✨ I gained freedom and happiness to live my life fully, without obsessing over food or my body. In honor of my 22nd birthday coming up next week, I’m reminded of how far I’ve truly come in my recovery and journey to truly loving myself 🫶🏼 There was a time when I truly thought I’d never break free. The cycle of restriction, guilt, and self-hate felt endless. Food was fear. My body was the enemy. And every day felt like a battle I was losing. But here’s what I want you to know: you can and will heal. It’s not easy. It’s messy, painful, and sometimes feels impossible. But if you keep pushing—even when it’s hard, even when it feels like nothing’s changing—you’ll get there. Recovery isn’t linear. Some days you’ll feel on top of the world, and others you’ll feel like you’ve taken ten steps back. But every time you choose to nourish your body, every time you choose kindness over criticism, every time you allow yourself to simply live—you’re breaking that cycle. I’m living proof that it does get better. That freedom, joy, and self-love are possible.
