Replying to @Oulah Describing someone as a “female comedian” is internalized s€xism. You’re using gender to modify the profession, and the connotation is that you find it unusual for a woman to be a comedian. The implication is that it’s normal for men to be comedians, that men are funnier and that when a woman is a comedian, it’s an exception to the rule. If your reaction to this explanation is “it’s not that serious”, you’re feeling defensive and my next question would be “why did this make you uncomfortable?”.
