Taiwan: Know before you go! 🇹🇼 1. Best time to go: November to April 🌤️ The weather becomes significantly less humid starting November, but then can get as cold as less than 10° mid-December to February. If that’s too cold for you, then March to May starts to warm up again, but won’t be unbearably hot as the summer. 2. Learn some Mandarin 🧧 Here’s a few easy phrases to start with: • 你好 nǐhǎo - Hello! • 我要.. wǒyào - I want… • 這個 zhège - this one • 早安 zǎoān - Good morning! • … 在哪裡 zài nǎlǐ - Where is the..? • 廁所 cèsuǒ - toilet 3. Cash 💵  Make sure to have cash with you at all times! Most food in night markets will be anywhere between 30-150 NTD, so about 3000 NTD always in your wallet would be safe! If you have to exchange more cash while you’re out and about, try any National Bank of Taiwan branch. 4. Public Transportation Apps 📲 Google Maps & Bus+ should be you go to navigation apps, especially Bus+ for better real-time bus service. 5. Easy Cards 悠遊卡 🪪 An Easy Card is a multi-use card that can be used all over Taiwan! You can top it up with cash at any convenience store or metro station, and it can be used for the metro, trains, buses, and even to buy things at select stores. Wait until you get in the city to get one at a convenience store, as they have much more cuter options than at the airport. 6. Bring a small umbrella ☂️  Taiwan can be pretty rainy, especially northern Taiwan. A small umbrella is always good to keep on hand, both for times when the rain is crazy and/or the sun is too strong! This is the most beautiful tea ceremony you absolutely must try in Taiwan 🫖🍃🇹🇼 Organized by Longyun Tea Farm in Zhuqi, Chiayi County, this special tea ceremony includes one hour of at least two different teas for tasting, small bites, and beautiful views you can’t get elsewhere in Taiwan! And the best part? A group of 2-6 people only costs 1800 NTD (60 US) in total 😱 To make a reservation, you’ll have to message the farm via their contact page on their website or by calling using a local line. Let them know you’d like to partake in a tea ceremony. Website: https://www.long-yun.com.tw/contact/ Phone: +886 52562216 They do have one staff member that speaks English if needed. The farm is also inaccessible via public transportation. You’ll have to rent a car or hire a driver 🚙  ‼️ It’s NOT guaranteed to be held in the forest. If you’d like it to be in this exact spot, please inform them, as the location depends heavily on weather and time of day. Let me know if you haven’t any more questions in the comments! 🙌🏽 — #alishan #taiwan #taiwantea #teaceremony #thingstodointaiwan #taiwanteaceremony #placestovisitintaiwan #alishantaiwan #shizhuo #taiwanhiddengems

⬇️🇹🇼 Everything you need to know about summer in Taiwan: ☀️ The summer heat starts to pick up in May and don’t die down until late October. Expect temperatures in the high 30s and even warm nights. 🌀 Not only is this the hottest time of the year, but it also marks typhoon season.
