Long story short, I started taking a medication for diabetes 6ish months ago. A ton of research shows that ozempic can be beneficial for those with autoimmune diseases, and tons of doctors/nutritionists stand behind it. I have thyroid disease and my old meds weren’t working well, resulting in a MISERABLE and PAINFUL couple of years. This took a toll on my mental health and really affected my family. I want to be clear that I DID NOT start ozempic for weight loss, but that is obviously a major side effect. Some people have been really negative (someone in my messages just said I have horrible ozempic face) so I want to make it known that I take this medicine because of what it’s done/doing for my health. If it makes me ugly and gives me a horrible face, then that’s something I’ll live with if it helps my insides. For those that have been kind, thank you so much. Your encouragement do not go unnoticed! I’ve avoided the topic because regardless of what I do for work, I am still a very private person and don’t enjoy letting people see raw parts of me. I know many of you suffer with this wretched thing we call thyroid disease so my hope in sharing this is that I can be a light for you. I’ve come to terms with my disease being a thorn in this life, and I look forward to the day my body is renewed in heaven. But until that day- I’m going to use and be thankful for modern medicine.
