I’m super curious to know—let’s brainstorm a list of ways we can apply this to have better boundaries! 👇 Many of the HIPAA compliant apps also have a feature similar to this! This new iOS 18 update is a game changer! 🙌 As a therapist, I often get texts from colleagues etc, and I used to feel the need to reply right away so I wouldn’t forget… which sometimes meant responding on weekends or outside of my business hours. 🙃 But setting boundaries is key, right? I prefer to reply between 9 AM and 6 PM. But… then I run the risk of forgetting 🙈🙈🙈to respond entirely or using my work hours for admin tasks like this. ♥️With this new update, I can schedule texts! 📲 It’s perfect for those early mornings when I’m up before my kids and working but want to respond at a more appropriate time. Huge improvement for maintaining balance! If you haven’t tried it yet, update your phone and you should see the feature right in your iMessages. 💬 If you use a HIPPA compliant texting app with clients, also make sure they have this feature!!!!! #TherapistLife #BoundariesMatter #iOS18Update #SchedulingTexts #TherapyPractice #BusinessTips

Why is it so damn hard to just take a compliment?!

Girl, I used to struggle with this so much. The second someone said something nice, I’d spiral—Should I downplay it? Say something humble? Make a joke? Meanwhile, I wasn’t even hearing the actual compliment!

Let’s stop overcomplicating this. The best response? “Thank you.” That’s it. No disclaimers. No awkwardness. Just receive it.
 Also try these:
✨ Reframe how you see compliments.
 ✨ Recognize your own worth.
✨ Have a few go-to responses ready (trust me, it helps!).

Tell me—what’s the hardest compliment for you to accept? Drop it below! ⬇️

Therapists, let’s make this a resource together—drop in the comments what you’ve been saying to clients who come in feeling overwhelmed. Every little bit helps! ⬇️ ✨ Lately, so many of my clients have been showing up to therapy feeling heavy—carrying dread, anxiety, and worry about everything happening in the world. And here’s the decision I’ve made: I’m going to show up as my full, authentic self. ✨ Does that mean I’m making therapy about me? No. But does it mean I’m a blank slate? Also no. Because in times like this, trying to be completely neutral feels inauthentic to me—and honestly, my clients feel that too. ✨ This is a hard time for so many people, and that fear doesn’t just vanish when they step into a session. Some clients need to know where we stand to feel safe enough to open up. That doesn’t mean every therapist has to take this approach, but it’s the choice I’ve made. ✨ Here are a few things I’ve been telling my clients when they come in feeling overwhelmed: ⭐ You don’t have to carry this alone. Therapy is the space where you can put it all down for a moment. You don’t have to be the strong one in here. ⭐ Anxiety doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. Your nervous system is responding exactly how it’s supposed to in uncertain times. It makes sense that you’re feeling this way—anyone in your position would. ⭐ Small moments of peace still matter. A deep breath, a few minutes outside, or putting your phone down won’t change what’s happening in the world—but it will help you get through the next moment. And sometimes, that’s enough. ⭐ You can care without consuming everything. You don’t have to be plugged into the news 24/7 to prove that you care. Setting boundaries with media, social media, or even certain conversations isn’t selfish—it’s protecting your energy. ✨ Let’s support each other—comment below with what you’ve been saying to your clients. Let’s make this a space for therapists to share. ❤️ #TherapistTikTok #MentalHealthMatters #TherapyTalk #TherapistLife #AnxietySupport #HoldingSpace #TherapistThoughts #SelfCareForTherapists #TherapyWisdom

Therapists—let’s be real. Who we are outside the therapy room always finds its way into the work we do. Whether you’re a parent, a partner, the eldest daughter who grew up fixing everything (👀), or the friend everyone turns to—you bring that energy into the room. So tell me—what’s your life like outside of therapy? Drop a comment and let’s compare notes! ⬇️ #TherapistLife #DayInTheLife #TherapistTok #TherapistCheck #MentalHealthTok #TherapistHumor #WorkLifeBalance

Therapist Kim just saying Hi 👋 I have a question for you.. If your actions were to boomerang back on you instantly would you still act the same? I always say treat people the way you want to be treated and if people can’t learn to treat you right you have to remove these people from your life. Hope you have a great evening and put your answer to my question in the comments. #therapistkim#therapistlife#therapists#MentalHealthAwareness#mentalhealthmatters#bekind#treatothershowyouwanttobetreated#boomerangeffect#benicetoeachother#sayinghi#sayhi#gingersrule#naturalredhead#naturalredheads#naturalredhead#naturalredhair#genuinegingers#freckles#beautyandbrains#kimberlyann__23#gingers#mentalhealththerapist#deepthoughts💭
Aviva is almost 7 months and rocking purees! 🥄 She’s starting solids, practicing chewing, and learning to move food safely with her tongue. 🥚👶 I’m using Back Molar Placement to help her tongue practice for safe swallowing. 💡 Spitting food out? Totally normal! It’s her way of protecting her airways as she builds confidence with new textures. 💪 Every bite is progress—no teeth needed! 🦷❌ #FeedingTherapy #BabyFeedingTips #SpeechTherapyLA #SolidStarts #BabyDevelopment #MomLifeLA #SpeechPathology #FeedingMilestones #TherapistLife #FoodExploration
