In January 2017, my original social media platform, Vine, closed down permanently, after spending basically my entire teenage years creating exclusive content there. Then, in February 2023, I decided to start again as a Content Creator, but this time, on TikTok. Over the past two years, I have not only rebuilt what was lost, but found something new: community. Thanks to TikTok, I have met some of the loveliest people on this planet, who have motivated me as a creator to be true to myself and to keep creating content that I can feel proud of. Because of this app, I have had dream-come-true brand opportunities (which I once believed to be absolutely impossible) and that have LITERALLY changed my life. Because of this app, I travelled to Japan last year and met new friends who once only knew me from watching my TikTok videos! Because of this app, @ThtQuirkyGirl_ found me and as a result, we’ve hosted several very successful local @NYCTamagotchiClub meetups (with more coming this year)! Because of this app, I have learned so much about myself, not only as a content creator, but as a person. I am completely heartbroken to see TikTok be taken away from those of us here in the United States. But, I have been here before and I will rebuild once again.
