No plans. No brain cells left. ONLY SURVIVAL. I thought it might be helpful to show you exactly how our family (traveling with young kids) adjusts to jet lag on our first day in a new country. The best way to tackle jet lag is to stay awake as long as possible so that you can quickly adjust to your new time zone. But when you land in a country at 7 a.m. And your body thinks it's 1am, That means you have a long way to go. And of course our rental house never opens to dump our stuff off until at least 4:00 p.m.. So that means we're staring down an 11-hour day where we've got to keep everybody awake and going, with all of our luggage in tow. We try our best to choose low impact yet active activities and we try to stay outside in the Sun as much as possible! Because the sun helps you adjust! Obviously this time, even with all of our best efforts, our plans were led astray by a bit of a medical emergency. Talk about bad timing. But it all worked out in the end. And sometimes you got to do the hard stuff to do the fun stuff. . . . .
