The VA’s Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) program, also known as Chapter 31, is designed to help veterans with service-connected disabilities prepare for, find, and maintain suitable employment. If working isn’t feasible due to a disability, the program may also support independent living services. Who Qualifies? • Veterans with a service-connected disability rating of at least 10% (with a serious employment handicap) or 20% (with an employment handicap). • You must have received an honorable or other-than-dishonorable discharge.
