THE SPOT: The cutest tasting room built in the early 1900s. This modern farmhouse meets mid century is a vibe! THE WINE: Favorites were the 2021 NAPA CABERNET SAUVIGNON, juicy, smooth and oh so, sumptuous. Also loved the 2021 NAPA VALLEY PETITE SIRAH. Black licorice and cassis, this inky dark wine is a pick me girl in all the best ways. With a lingering finish, she’s lush, bold & beautiful. THE ACCOLADES: 2023 GRENACHE~ 2025 SF Chronicle Wine Competition Sweepstakes Winner/Best Red Wine!! I didn’t get the chance to taste this Grenache but all the more reason for a return visit to Rippey! Not to mention the staff are seriously the nicest bunch and spent so much time sharing the history with me. THE ROOTS: The Rippey family are fourth generation Napa natives. Nathan and Tyson first stomped Petite Sirah grapes in their grandfather’s St. Helena garage as children, which was a formative experience for them both. When dad, Dennis, transitioned into the wine business, it wasn’t long before he enlisted his sons to help in the endeavor. After over twenty-five years of experience making wines for customers both big and small, they decided it was time to launch their own wine brand, Rippey Family Vineyards. THE PERKS: They have the cutest room downstairs where guests can enjoy private tastings, wine pairing dinners, celebrations, live music and more! They also have a beautiful outdoor patio space with bocce ball courts. Visit @rippeyfamilyvineyards Tasting Room at 3750 Woodbridge Road East, Acampo, CA.
