Today I have a very special project to share with you. This is a song written by Seth Abel. Seth is a local here in the Swannanoa Valley. He plays on the worship team at our church with my wife Amy. When he sent me this song, it told the story perfectly. Our story. When he first sent it to me, I could see all these clips and many more from Hurricane Helene playing in my mind. I blown away. His next message said that he’d love to have a haunting fiddle with it. That’s where Jacinta comes in. Jacinta has been volunteering with Valley Strong Disaster Relief every day for the last couple months. She’s a native of the Chimney Rock/Lake Lure area. When the storm happened she was staying with her grandmother in Long Island, and felt a strong pull to come back home to WNC. She left her job and has been volunteering here ever since. Here is a testament to how every single need has been met by THE PEOPLE. When Seth said he’d like to have a fiddle on this song, TWO DAYS LATER I learned that Jacinta was a fiddle player. She said the bow on her fiddle was broken. Here’s the next mind blowing part. ONE HAD BEEN DONATED TO SILVERADOS. This has been a very special project for me.
