Upgrade your Trim Router with the StabilMax Trim Router Base! The StabilMax is compatible with Makita, Bosch, Dewalt, Milwaukee, Porter-Cable, Rigid, and Ryobi trim routers. I used a couple bits from our Ultra-Shear lineup to make this project come out how I wanted. The first bit I used was a Spoilboard bit. I used this one to clear away the majority of the material. The shorter length of the cutter head allowed me to ride my bearing on the template above and make an appropriate shallow first pass. Then I just lowered the bit in 1/16” increments until most of the material was cleared. I left a bit of material to clean up on the final pass with a Bowl Bit. This bit has a rounded profile on the edge and does exactly what it sounds like it does… it rounds and softens those inside edges making the cutting board handle much more comfortable to interact with. Also wanted to point out that this technique that I showed here would not have been possible with the stock base that comes standard with the Makita trim router. Instead I used our StabilMax Trim Router Base. This gave me much more support for this project! And the StabilMax isn’t just limited to the Makita trim router, it also fits the Bosch, Dewalt, Milwaukee, Porter-Cable, Rigid, and Ryobi trim router 👍🏼 If you’d like to check out any of the tools I used in the video, I’ll list them below along with the SKU numbers. All of these can be found at www.woodpeck.com or click the link in bio!
