Did you catch the bicep bind foreshadow from part 1? 👀 Fun arm variations used in this flow: 💪🏼 The Bicep Bind: What it is: one arm half binds behind the lower back, grabbing for the bicep of the other arm (or forearm, shirt, or strap) Why we love it: it encourages a proud chest, open heart, and gives students an opportunity to connect to *feeling* rather than seeing, which is tough to do when you can’t see what you’re reaching for. 🫴🏼🫳🏼 Air Bender Arms: What it is: a dance where each arm reaches across the front of the body in opposite directions. Why we love it: it’s fluid, it’s graceful, and when paired with extended side angle and peaceful triangle, it encourages a LOT of oblique strength. 🤲🏼The Self Assisted Twist: What it is: this assist was introduced to me by @leslievanbell, it’s a supportive, self-opening to a twisted lunge. Grab your left outer ribs with your right hand (across the front of the body), and pull yourself into a twist to the right. Why we love it: it gives students an opportunity to get *themselves* deeper into a pose without relying on the help of a teacher. This gives them a greater sense of trust for themselves and comfort in their own touch. Loving this arm variations? You should see how their incorporated into the entire sequence.
