Reid, a father of eight, currently lives with his family on Freeman Street, East La Penitence, Georgetown. After the amputation, he had been reliant on his wife to run daily errands and activities due to his immobility. With the electric bike, Reid is now able to navigate on his own and handle personal matters independently. Reid intends to use the bike to start a small business to sell water coconuts and beverages. He expressed his gratitude to the businessman who advised him to take extra caution when riding on the roadway.

Since then, the family has been living with relatives in Unity, ECD, who have been providing for their basic needs, including shelter, food, and clothing. Four of the children are mentally unstable and require special care. As such, Ishun is unable to work. Her husband passed away several years ago, and she has been raising the children on her own. After the tragedy in September, efforts to rebuild the house were made, but due to financial constraints and other challenges, nothing was done. However, Ishun's sister, Neranie Sanichar, reached out to businessman Mr. A. Mohamed, who was informed of their situation. In response, Mr. Mohamed visited the family today and pledged to rebuild their home. A team will be mobilized to begin construction as soon as possible.
