My daughters hair is getting longer. I love to keep it clean and brush it. as I smooth her bangs away from her eyes, I stare deep into her. and with every microdot of my soul I say. “you are so beautiful. I am so lucky to have you. I love you." it is an everyday occurrence but its anything but mundane every time I am brushing her hair I am also brushing the waist-length black hair of a 7-year-old me gently moving her bangs and wiping the tears from her eyes.
