Location is key ๐ Read for Pro Tip โฌ๏ธ What I'm essentially sharing with you is the three steps I consider and has worked for me in the past when I'm trying to find the "perfect" location for any photoshoot I have with models 1. Clothing ๐งฅ Thinking about the style, fit and colours of the clothes your model will be wearing, is key to matching or contrasting with your desired location. *Pro Tip- A day before the shoot be in contact with your model and exchange ideas and photos of either their wardrobe or the outfit you have, to piece together the overall fit 2. Lens ๐ญ Choosing what lens you think you will predominantly shoot with is a great way to select a location. For example shooting on a wide angle lens always works well in built up urban environments whereas using a zoom lens can work better in less built up areas to capture more simple portrait photos. 3. Aesthetic ๐ผ๏ธ Thinking about the overall theme to yourshoot is always a big one for me and probably the most important. Story/mood boards are a great way to piece this together giving you inspiration of the type of location you are looking out for when choosing where to shoot. An example of this is if you're shooting a throwback 90's style shoot capturing this in-front of new modern architecture won't fit in with the theme you're trying to capture. *Pro Tip: Send your story/mood board to your model days before that way you can discuss and collab ideas of the final energy/poses you're trying to capture. Let me know which is your favourite 1-3?
