Another quick update from here in Los Angeles as we are in the 2nd week of fires that are both devastating and defining as a community. A few reminders: I’m going to go live on TikTok at 4:00 PST (give or take a few minutes) to talk about what’s up with me during the fires, also I’ll provide some resources for folks with animal family members here, and ways to help those families if you’re not here. And, speaking of helping, please remember that we are donating the net proceeds of the sale of our Snuffle Mat slow feeder and puzzle toy, but that’s ending at midnight today, so please, if you’ve ever thought about getting one, now’s the time- and the money will go directly to Pasadena Humane Society and LA Animal Services, who could use all of your help right now. Also a quick shout out to LA first responders, all of the incredible fire fighters and front line support we’ve gotten from other cities, and LA shelter workers who are putting in insane hours for the many homeless, evacuated and injured animals. I’m back at @Pasadena Humane and watching just an amazing show of community in action. It’s so reassuring to remember that we are surrounded by community members who will help each other. Just an update- watching the fires around me, packed and ready to go with all of the animals in tow. I took a moment to check out a shelter in the area and i’m just so thrilled to see that The Red Cross is now accepting animals and their humans together in their shelters!! If you, like so many others and those in my life that have had to flee their homes and memories, my whole heart is with you as we in Los Angeles band together. It’s an indescribable feeling on one hand, the looming anxiety and on the other, the incredible generosity I’ve seen over and over again.
