Well no, no you couldn’t. That’s not the point. Shein, Amazon, Walmart, Target (yep, they’re included) will always sell a cheaper item than a brand like mine. But at what cost? At WHO’S cost? Someone if not lots of people are being exploited in the worlds of fast fashion and mass manufactured goods. This isn’t shaming people for where they buy items from, it’s about conscious consumerism. Before you buy that extra Christmas gift just take a beat and think about how it’s made, who made it, what it’s made of, and how long that item will last before it ends up in the landfill. We have the power to vote with our dollar. And there’s no room for shaming here, education and spreading awareness is a better tactic. I had a lady tell me I was lazy for cutting up crochet blankets instead of just crocheting the blanket myself and that I should just buy a fast fashion knit item if I want a crochet jacket 😂 ⬆️This kind of mindset really hurts our planet. Reuse/upcycling has been around for thousands of years. Turning an item that has been passed down into something new and more useful it a wonderful way to honor the sentimental item, is cost effective, and sustainable!
