As a photographer this one tugged my heart strings. We had this family session planned months and months in advance. The day before this session I get a text from a client that stated “ Moms health took a turn for the worst this week, I’m not sure if she will be able to go outside but dad wants to take her to see her horses. I don’t know if she will get better” The day before the session the rock of this family passes away, and this family continued this session with so much resilience and bravery which I’m sure took a lot of courage to do so. During this session it felt heavy, but not in a bad way. You could feel her spirit in every drip of rain that fell during that session, every tear that fell, every laugh, and every hug, every sway of her horses tail. Her presence was there and it was so powerful. She held them together beautifully. She has raised such a wonderful group of children, grandchildren and had such an amazing husband that was strong until he couldn’t be any more. This post is powerful. This shows a strong family you can see it in the photos. This post is to say TAKE THE PHOTO! Whether it is with a professional with your iPhone, make the memories even when it’s painful to do.
