A post by @the.mama.coach on TikTok caption: Who is soooo tired of night time pumping? I see you❤️❤️ If you are exclusively pumping and your baby is still waking for a bottle you will need to keep pumping until they are sleeping longer stretches. If you are breastfeeding and babe is sleeping here is my rule of thumb: ➡️if you are working through a breastfeeding challenge (oral restriction, supply challenge or pain) I would not stop pumping until we resolve that. That extra stimulation at night may be key for maintaining your supply. ➡️if you aren’t working through a challenge, you can stop. Hand express until comfort for a few nights then you can just sleep through. If your baby starts waking again, your body will adjust and just start making more (if there are no underlying issues). A post by @the.mama.coach on TikTok caption: Here’s how⬇️ Often a delayed let down can be correlated with a lower supply. If we can bolster supply, we can speed up the let down. Here’s how: ➡️warm compress to your breasts for a few minutes before feeding ➡️lots of breast expression when babe latches ➡️power pump a few times a week! If you are having feeding challenges, addressing them will improve your let down. We can help❤️❤️ Questions? Ask away! #breastfeeding #breastfeedingtips #bottlefed #newborn #postpartum

A post by @the.mama.coach on TikTok caption: How to move bedtime earlier without tears⬇️ It has to start with morning! If you want babe to go to bed earlier and easier- count 12-13 hours back and wake babe then. If it is more than an hour earlier than they have been, do it in 30 min increments every few days Remember your newborn (under 12 weeks) typically won’t be ready to move bedtime earlier till between 12-16 weeks. A post by @the.mama.coach on TikTok caption: It can be done⬇️ You just need to be mindful of supply- if you give baby bottles of formula, you need to pump- the reason baby start to prefer bottles is that flow is faster there. If your baby doesn’t like the taste it will take time. Reconstitute the formula as per instructions- and then add a little to breastmilk and slowly change it to more formula and less breastmilk. This is the easiest way. If your baby won’t take a bottle we can help you- this is a process that also takes some time. Questions? Ask away❤️❤️ #bottlefed #combofed #baby #newborn #postpartum

A post by @the.mama.coach on TikTok caption: Are you wondering about clicking? Clicking when feeding can be nothing- In my experience, clicking alone can often be a non issue. Clicking plus- pain, fussy baby, supply issues… this can warrant a feeding assessment! It could be a latch issue, a supply issue or a milk transfer issue- all things we can help with, breast or bottle fed. Questions? Ask away❤️❤️ #bottlefed #newborn #postpartum #ibclc

A post by @the.mama.coach on TikTok caption: This is a huge topic⬇️ If you are overwhelmed by sleep I see you. If it “isn’t working” please don’t think it’s you or that your baby isn’t capable. Sometimes having a plan and a person helping makes the world of difference. The tricky part about learning anything is that it often isn’t linear- it takes time to improve and there are ups and downs. If you can make your response always the same it gets easier for baby. For example- If you are working on cutting night feeds and you feed in the night, don’t feed to sleep. That consistency will bring progress. One thing I will say is that if you are working on sleep and your baby is fussy and not making progress and under 5 months- I would 100% get a feeding assessment. Babes older than 5 months need a feeding assessment too! Feeding and sleep go hand in hand. Questions? Let’s chat about it! #sleep #babysleep #sleeptraining #sleepcoach

A post by @the.mama.coach on TikTok caption: Do they wake up the second you put them down? This is because they are in light sleep. In newborns we call it active sleep. In under babes we call it light REM sleep or stage one sleep. If your newborn is in quiet sleep they will transfer easier. If your older babes is in deeper sleep same thing. You can tell because their breathing slows and becomes very rhythmic, and their body relaxes. I would wait 5-10 min then try. Let’s talk about it! I see you all working so hard to be great parents❤️❤️ #babysleep #sleepcoach #newborn #postpartum

A post by @the.mama.coach on TikTok caption: It’s a long one but the last tip is important😘 Leaning into what your baby is telling you will help you navigate breast or bottle refusal Common reasons are: ➡️I’m not hungry! Honour that- often hungry and tired look the same. A rested baby feeds SO much better ➡️I’m uncomfortable. Just like we don’t want to eat if we have a belly ache- babes are the same. If this is happening often- I would get a feeding assessment so we can figure out why the discomfort ➡️flow preference. If you combo feed and the flow of the bottle is faster than the flow at your breast, babe May start to refuse. Let’s talk about it! #baby #newborn #postpartum #babyfeeding #breastfeeding #breastfeedingtips

A post by @the.mama.coach on TikTok caption: How tired are you if you are doing this? Holding a baby upright after each feed is not sustainable. You’re exhausted and it doesn’t work great either. What works is: ➡️finding the root cause of the issue- there is almost always a feeding issue going on that we can help with. ➡️paying close attention during night feeds- if baby is sleepy or slows- end the feed. Lots of babes suck longer than an active feed, taking in more milk than they needed, making spit up worse. Questions? Ask away❤️❤️ #postpartum #newborn #breastfeeding #refluxbaby

If not- I would work on a solid bedtime routine where babe closes their eyes in the crib. Under 12 weeks➡️ skip the dream feed and just do a later bedtime. Over 12 weeks➡️try it like I mention in the video and report back😂❤️ Questions? Ask away!# #dreamfeed #babysleep #sleepcoach #sleeptraining #newborn
