To the lady dropping her husband off at the airport todayâI saw you. The camo bags, the flags, all things that represent serving our countryâI saw you. I stopped and told your husband thanks for his service, but I canât imagine the sacrifice you make daily as well. Tears were rolling down your face, and my heart sank as I knew you were saying goodbye for probably a while. As your husband held your daughter and kissed her goodbye I watched you. You were trying so hard to be strong. I canât imagine what you feel today, tomorrow, and the days that are ahead. I may not know you, but today, you were prayed over. Iâm sorry so many of us take his service and your familyâs sacrifice for granted. To the lady at the airportâtoday I was reminded of how costly freedom is. â¤ď¸
