what I sold in 2024 as a crochet artist! I think this was probably the most physical pieces I’ve sold in a year since starting my business, it averages out to about 1 per week! I also didn’t make all this in 2024, some of it is a few years old. There were literally 100 boxes in that room and now it’s my favorite place in the world. I will make my year in review soon. Literally I’ve just been so busy because February is the 2 most important events I’m going to do all year so I’m just ahhhhh drowning in work. And 2024 I did a lot and felt the pressure to make a good round up of the year and how grateful I am to everyone who was apart of it. So yeah I will be posting on, just late. ANYWAY! This would not be possible without the kindness of my local community of queer trans/elders and the benevolent ghost of the amazing artist Dick Rasmussen (whose house this is and whose descendant is letting me use briefly) the derelict artist’s home lay unused for 8 years but with the help of my trans elder and mentor, Daniel, we cleaned out one of the rooms and transformed it into the perfect temporary studio space. I’m grateful my mentors would believe in my work and care about me. My other queer elder, who owns this place, was kind enough to let me use this room, to give me the space to work on my new collection for New York Fashion Week at @plusultraentertainment ‘s show Pop Couture. (and I need to make my inventory for Katsucon!) What’s your favorite part of the new digs because for me it’s the Kite. I had early broken my chronically ill autoimmune dumb body when packing up the third load of stuff (well over 400 pounds of stuff which is a lot for my body personally) and I came back to the house to find Daniel on a chair putting up a kite he found in the house. (The man who lived there was a big collector of things from toys to kites to crucifixes to happy meal box designs). 🏂🏂🏂 also I got this killer sign from @GSJJNeonsigns they hooked me up with this killer sign that screams D¥KEMINT!! it looks absolutely perfect. WEEK 2 OF NYFW COLLECTION (+ Katsucon) PREP! Less than 3 weeks with nearly 1/2 of all the looks completely finished! I got a lil cold this week so we didn’t film many timelapses and focused all the energy we had into just being productive. Anyone who can name all of the art processes going into this collecting down in the comments wins a cookie. Also because this is a Fall/Winter collection it’s a LOT of pieces. Every look has an extra layer too it, a shirt vest and coat, a custom shoe or accessory or hat or purse, etc. Making 90% of the stylings along with the clothes is an added challenge but we have the g4y audacity to get it all done!
