Laboring on the toilet allows you to be in a supported squat, I also love this on the birth ball. Because by squatting, we can open our pelvis up by 30 percent, which gives our baby extra space to engage with our cervix and keeps our labor progressing the way it needs to. When we sit on the toilet, we naturally let our pelvic floor relax, we have trained our brain since childhood. Toilet means relax!! Use this tool to your advantage. But here is a warning: It will make the contractions seem stronger. So challenge yourself to sit through at least 3-5 or more contractions per hour on the toilet.
