Just heard David Lynch passed away. He was about to turn 79 on January 20th. RIP. #ripdavidlynch #davidlynch #twinpeaks #tv #tvshow #lynch #rip #sad #legend #goat
💔David Lynch 1.20.46 - 1.16.25☕️🍩 “Music, painting, cinema - these are the art forms of life,” - David Lynch We lost David Lynch today. Among the many artists who have profoundly impacted my artistic journey, none have left a greater mark than David Lynch. It was when I watched the documentary “Pretty as a Picture: The Art of David Lynch” in 1998 that I truly understood the power of film as an art form and the significance of filmmakers as artists. I was captivated! Lynch’s unwavering commitment to his artistic vision and his refusal to conform to societal norms have been a source of inspiration for me. His success with abstract art demonstrates that art can be powerful and impactful without necessarily providing all the answers. As he once remarked, “I don’t know why people expect art to make sense. They accept the fact that life doesn’t make sense.” Amidst his ambiguity, Lynch found beauty in his art, leaving viewers yearning for more…questioning and thinking about it after the fact. “I always say that Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is my biggest influence. There’s something about the mood here. The fear, insanity, corruption, filth, despair, and violence that permeate the air are so captivating to me.” - David Lynch The book “Room To Dream” by Lynch and Kristine McKenna delves into the intricate details of the memories and life experienced within this house (pic 1-4) in Philadelphia. Today, I felt compelled to embark on a drive to Philly to pay my respects to a place that was his biggest influence. As I sit here writing this…wearing a David Lynch shirt and drinking coffee out of a David Lynch mug, I can’t help but say thank you David for all that you gave this world. Pic 5 & 6 of David and John Waters outside of Bob’s Big Boy in Burbank. Possibly after the Eraserhead premiere in 1977. Video 7 was from the Ronette Pulaski Bridge, a video I never posted because I couldn’t get the final results. The image was a behind the scenes pic of David Lynch from the set of Twin Peaks. The brush was thick (prickly)and I was short on time to get in the right place. You can see the bridge and where I am is close to where David was standing when that pic was taken #davidlynch #lynch #artist #movies #film #filmmaker #art
