The McBarge is a unique and iconic structure that was originally built as a floating McDonald's restaurant for Expo 86 in Vancouver, Canada. Expo 86 was a World Expo held in Vancouver, and the McBarge was designed as part of the McDonald's pavilion. It was an innovative, futuristic design that featured a large, floating barge-like structure with McDonald's restaurants, a kitchen, and seating areas. After Expo 86 ended, the McBarge was left unused for many years. At one point, it was abandoned and fell into disrepair, but there have been various efforts to restore or repurpose the vessel in recent years. The McBarge itself became a notable piece of Vancouver’s history and a symbol of the Expo 86 event, often discussed by those who remember the event or those curious about its past. As of now, it remains docked in the waters near Vancouver, though it’s unclear whether it will ever be fully restored or repurposed for public use. The McBarge is considered a piece of architectural and cultural history from the 1980s in Canada. #abandonedplaces #urbanexplorer #abandon #urbex @LordExplores

As we were walking through the woods of Canada we came across some abandoned cars covered in debris and moss. As we looked farther, we found more cars and an odd amount of food cans left scattered over the ground. We wondered deeper and that’s when we made out the shape of what seemed like a house. We made our way up to the house and saw the back door was practically none existent. We carefully stepped inside and realized the house was barely standing. Everything seemed to be left behind. The house had an eerie feeling. All of the furniture and clothing had started melting away due to the elements. After only being inside for a handful of minutes we could feel the walls creaking. We snapped a couple more shots and carefully made our way out. Such a strange home left forgotten in the middle of nowhere. #abandonedplaces #urbanexplorer #abandon #urbex

Finn Slough is a tiny Fraser River fishing community, sometimes referred to as Gilmore or Tiffin Slough. It is located at the south end of No. 4 Road in the Gilmore area of Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. The community has approximately 30 residents who live in wooden houses, both floating and built on pilings, along the marshy river bank. Many of the buildings were built between the late 19th century and 1950s and many have decayed severely, while some have been carefully restored. Finn Slough was founded by Finnish settlers who came to Richmond in the 1880s. Most of these residents made a good living from fishing and became local landowners. #abandonedplaces #abandon #urbanexplorer #urbex @LordExplores
