Thank you to the publisher for the ARC of Abby Jimenez’s newest book. Overall i did enjoy it but i had some issues with it. This book had the romcom mixed with emotional vibes that we love in Abby’s books, but the conflict was outside of the 2 main characters and because of that I don’t feel like i connected to the FMC very much. She didn’t have as much emotional depth and growth as other Abby FMCs (in my opinion)! The MMC had more of a backstory and i liked seeing him deal with that in adulthood but it was a bit rushed. The romance was really good though! Despite it being insta-love, the dynamic worked. The chemistry was jumping off the page and the banter was incredible. The dates were swoony and sweet and just romantic. The long distance aspect provided lots of angst and tension which i loveeeed. Overall, i liked it alot, but i didnt love! As a romance it was good, but it lacked the emotional depth and relatability im used to seeing in an Abby Jimenez fmc!
