Every been told your labs look “good” or “normal” but you still have acne…🫠 I’m here to tell you that’s maybe because you haven’t actually had in-depth panels or markers run that would uncover anything and/or they weren’t interpreted in functional ranges. Unfortunately, your traditional doc might overlook key labs that could uncover the root cause of your breakouts because they’re not trained to know what to run, constraints with insurance, billing, and more. Here are 3 labs your doctor probably isn’t running that can give you real answers: 👉🏼An in-depth stool analysis: Your gut is everything when it comes to acne - digestion, detoxification, inflammation, immune function, and even hormone regulation are all tied to gut health. A stool test like the GI-MAP (what I run on all clients) can reveal hidden issues like dysbiosis, H. pylori, candida, parasites, and more. 👉🏼A comprehensive hormone panel: Your hormones are a major player in acne, but a basic panel often misses the full picture. A DUTCH test (my favorite) or detailed bloodwork (think testosterone, progesterone, DHEA-S, insulin, estradiol, and more) helps identify imbalances that may be driving your skin issues. But again, we need to side by side address WHY they are off as hormones are just responding to other imbalances. And optimal ranges are KEY. 👉🏼Vitamin D levels: How this one still gets forgotten about is beyond me😅 Vitamin D isn’t just about bone health - it supports your immune system, reduces inflammation, and helps with hormone production..SO many more things. Low levels are a common missing piece in acne cases and I see it VERY often. So again, always advocate for yourself. There is ALWAYS a reason your body is experiencing acne. Having difficulties with your provider running tests you’d like to take a look at?🧪Check out my solo testing option interpreted by me to get data on your case!
