🚨 High-Speed Pursuit, Standoff & Dramatic Arrest in Sacramento! 🚨 SACRAMENTO, CA (PSN) – A pursuit involving Sacramento Police Department (SACPD) officers ended early this morning with the arrest of a female driver after she led officers on a chase through several city streets. According to a statement from Sacramento Police Department Public Information Officer (PIO) Officer Allison Smith, the incident began just before 1:30 a.m. when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of West El Camino and Millcreek. The driver of a red Mustang failed to yield, initiating a vehicle pursuit that continued westbound on West El Camino and later through other city streets, eventually reaching a dead-end at a field near Bayou Way. "Officers attempted to communicate with the female adult driver for about 50 minutes," Officer Smith said in her statement. "However, she continued to be non-compliant and refused to exit her vehicle." With the driver barricading herself inside the car and refusing to comply with commands, officers were forced to deploy less-lethal munitions, including pepper ball rounds, to safely take the driver into custody. "Officers deployed less-lethal munitions to safely take the driver into custody," Smith explained. The driver was treated on the scene by the fire department for exposure to the pepper ball OC solution and transported to a nearby hospital for precautionary reasons. She will be booked into jail for related charges, Smith confirmed. No further information has been released regarding the driver’s identity at this time, and the incident remains under investigation. ----------------------------------------- For more action news you can trust visit https://www.psnews.us/ Contact desk@psnews.us for licensing. Deputy Fatally Shoots Combative Man During Late-Night Confrontation in South Sacramento SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN)— A Sacramento County sheriff’s deputy fatally shot a man late Monday night during a confrontation on Wild Lilac Circle in the Vineyard neighborhood, authorities said. Just after 11:15 p.m., deputies responded to assist the fire department with a combative subject, Sgt. Amar Ghandi, the sheriff’s office public information officer, said in a media statement. Upon arrival, deputies found the man standing in the doorway of his home holding a knife, Ghandi said. "One deputy attempted to talk to him, de-escalate him, obviously try to convince him to drop that knife," Ghandi said. Another deputy then returned to his vehicle to retrieve a less-lethal shotgun. As the deputy approached with the shotgun, the subject began charging at the officer holding the knife. "The less lethal rounds, unfortunately had no effect," Ghandi stated. While the initial deputy was retreating to gain a better position, he fell, and the suspect continued advancing. At that moment, the deputy fired multiple times from the ground, striking the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Ghandi added. The subject was known to authorities and was on active parole for gun charges. He also had a history of mental health issues and was recognized as a combative individual, Ghandi noted. "He's known as a combative subject as well. So, he's familiar. Unfortunately, this had to end this way for him," Ghandi concluded. Sacramento County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident. ----------------------------------------- For more action news you can trust visit https://www.psnews.us/ Contact desk@psnews.us for licensing.
