Adoptees are a marginalized community especially in the publishing industry where our stories are written by non adoptees who only push harmful stayotypes and glorify adoption when really it's an experience that requires nuance. First I was ripped from my birth family (too much to type here but that’s a wild ride) & adopted young. Then My dad (who adopted me) d1edof cancer when I was 11, he was diagnosed 6 months prior, given 2 years 6 weeks prior to his de*th and then passed after falling into a coma in 4 weeks. My mom got into a car accident 8 months later, lost 1 leg completely and most of the other down to her bone from the top (it’s a crazy story you can ask in the comments if you want to know) and she went absolutely even more nutso in this time than she was before this, then a year after that took her first steps three weeks before my birthday, and then passed 4 days before my 13th birthday from medical malpractice and complications. Then I lived with my brother, the state took me from him and I was in several abus1ve and n3glectful girls homes til I was placed in a abus1ve foster home (a whole story, if you want a story time ask in the comments for any of it) and I couldn’t see my brother til I was 18. He then passed several years later but thankfully got to meet my oldest. The way he passed is also a whole story in itself. It’s been a lot, but I miss them all. Every day, no matter that things they did. Some of it’s true, some of its sadly a #TraumaBond #family #sadstory #sadvideo #deadparents #orphan #death #adopted #adoptee #fostercare #fosteryouth #adopteetok #dealingwithdeath #grief #grieftok @rhiifresh this is just a sneak peak of a part of my story.
