I wish the Imagineers would turn that second story of the Jungle Cruise in Magic Kingdom into a tiki bar or something like Tropical Hideaway in Disneyland… I would live there 😭 The characters that were NOT repurposed from Snow White’s Scary Adventures (aka made new for the attraction) are Snow White, Dopey, and Sneezy. The Imagineers had to put the repurposed characters farther away from you in the cottage and the also put the vultures way up high because they’re not the right scale for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. By making them farther away, they use forced perspective to make them look like they’re the right size. I *think* that band featured in front of the Aristocats shop (where Sir Mickey’s is now) is the polka band that used to play in Fantasyland, but if anyone else has information about them, it seems to be hard to track down (possibly only played for a few years in the 70s is my best guess). And last but not least, the punching gorilla was part of the phase 2 jungle Cruise budget, which disappeared when Disney realized they had to build Pirates of the Caribbean to the Magic Kingdom (because people were saying “don’t go to Walt Disney World, they don’t have pirates there”). That Jungle Cruise skipper though 😳 Flip flops were common with Adventureland cast members in the early days of Disneyland. The Jungle Cruise skippers also wore them for a time (and occasionally just took their shoes off and had bare feet entirely). Looking through all these old photos as I research and write about Disney history is one of my greatest joys because there were so many moments captured that bring the park to life beyond just posed/official park ones. Not everything was perfect all the time, though the outfits of the 50s & 60s are my absolute favorite. Come with me to Disneyland as a Non Disney Adult :) Disclaimer I get motion sickness so my recommendations are limited. That said you must walk the entire Star Wars land (duh!) The Cantina was a disappointment for me. But, you should still go, but make sure you have reservations and you must be there with your full party. I was told Tiana’s Bayou (the ride that replaced splash Mountain ) was fantastic but there is no escaping getting wet and in some cases, somewhat drenched. 💦💧Carsland was AWESOME!!!🚗🚙🏎️ and The Little Mermaid is fun for all ages!:) After 20 plus years, Disneyland is still magical and I kind of understand how people are Disney adults:)😉 ##disneyland##disneyadult##adventureland##disneyrecommendation
