We’re looking for people who want to stay on the farm but are also interested in building a solid non-farm income. I know a lot of you are working part-time or even full-time jobs off the farm to make ends meet, and I see the effort you’re putting in. Your love for agriculture runs deep, but what if you didn’t have to leave the farm to bring in that extra income? What if you could develop a significant income on a part-time basis, working it around your farming schedule? Imagine being home when you need to plant or harvest, not stuck at a job in town for 40+ hours a week. What would that mean for your operation, your family, and your peace of mind? If that sounds like something you’d like to learn more about, reach out to us. We’d love to show you how farmers just like you are making this happen! #Farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm
Corn Talk: The First 25 Days 🌽 Guys, let’s break it down—listen closely! In the first 25 days, your corn crop needs: ➡️ 19 lbs of nitrogen ➡️ 4 lbs of phosphorus ➡️ 22 lbs of potassium We’ve all been told: “Use a starter, use a starter— but most starter focuses on phosphorus!” And while phosphorus is crucial (yes, we need 4 lbs), don’t overlook the big players: potassium and nitrogen. 22 pounds of potassium in the first 25 days! Get your crop what it needs early on. Don’t miss this window. 🌽🔥 If this hits home, share it or drop your questions below! 👇 #farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm

Let’s talk potassium-to-magnesium ratio! For healthy soils, we’re aiming for a potassium base saturation around 5-6% and magnesium at 15%, with K being about one-third of Mg. That sweet spot? Somewhere between 12-16% total. If your levels aren’t there yet, it’s time to work towards balance. Better ratios mean better crops, stronger yields, and healthier soils. #Farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm
Boron don’t translocate in the plant—they stay where they’re placed. That means timing is everything! 🌱 According to Midwest Labs, a high percentage of your crop’s Boron requirements are taken up during the first third of the growing season. To maximize uptake and set your crop up for success, it’s crucial to apply them before or at planting. Don’t let your crop fall short! 💪 #farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm
Do you believe in the 4R’s? We do, especially when it comes to wheat. The right time, the right place, the right product, and the right rate—all backed by solid soil tests and agronomy practices. From starter fertilizer in the seed trench to perfectly timed foliar feeds, every step matters. Want to learn how to apply the 4R’s to your farm? Join us for the Fundamentals of Agronomy and take your crops to the next level. #WheatFarming #AgronomyTips #farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm
Did you know that applying all your boron at once could be holding your yields back? We’ve learned that split applications make a huge difference, increase yields & supporting soil health. Here’s why: boron helps mycorrhizae flourish. they’re essential for unlocking phosphorus availability in your soil. Without the right boron levels, your plants and soil microbes can’t work together as effectively. So if you’re looking for higher yields and better nutrient use, it’s time to rethink how you apply boron! 🌱💪 #farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm #onthisday

For those of you who are fighting high pH soils, I am not a believer in application of a dry broadcast. Because I believe you can continue to build that P2 number up. We see that go up. I look at soil tests and yes, we use the P1, P2 doing the Bray method to get a start on it and then we're going to have to roll around and do the Olsen bicarb test also to get a really accurate reading. But that P1 and P2, I've seen that be 5 and 105. Why? Because the readily available phosphorus just isn't there. The reservoir, the P2 is there, but it's tied up by the calcium. And the more we apply dry broadcast, our experience would indicate the more we build the P2, but we don't do anything for P1. How do we farm around that? And that's, guys, most of what we're looking at is we have to say, okay, here's what we got dealt. Here's what farm that we rent. These are the farms that we own. How do we farm around what we have? Because if we have a pH of 7.8, we're not going to get that down to 6.9. And the fact of the matter is we've got to figure out how to farm around it. What are we going to do? #Farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm
Why do we soil test? It’s all about knowing exactly what our crops need to hit the yield goals we’re pushing for. When we take a soil test, we use that information to apply only the nutrients our soil actually needs. That means smarter decisions, better efficiency, and healthier crops. But here’s the thing—it’s not just about soil. Manure testing is just as important. For example, I recently came across a sample of human waste being used as fertilizer, and it had aluminum and iron levels that were off the charts. That’s a big problem because those elements can tie up phosphorus, making it tough for plants to get the nutrients they need. This is why it’s so important to be aware of what’s in your soil and what you’re putting into it. Make the smart choices now to see better results later! @brianschlueter808 #farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm
Working with A Better Way to Farm has completely changed everything for us. It allowed us to graduate college debt-free, come back to the family operation, and start a family while staying home with them. No daycare, no missing important moments like doctor’s appointments or future sports events. But beyond that, it’s made a huge difference for our farm’s profitability. We’ve increased our farm average significantly, even by 25 to 30 bushels in some fields, and we’ve cut input costs—which is a big deal with the current grain markets. Now, when the combine breaks down (because it always happens, right?), we have more cushion to handle it. If you’re interested in spending more time with your family, getting back to the farm, or just increasing your yields and decreasing input costs to keep more of your profit, comment profit below, and someone will be in touch soon! #Farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm
