#AmericanLivingInSpain showcases the experiences of Americans adapting to Spanish culture, cuisine, lifestyle, and traditions. It highlights travel tips, cultural exchange, challenges, vibrant community, friendships, and unique adventures in Spain.
Ways I’ve changed since moving from the US🇺🇸 to Spain🇪🇸.. 1. I have an active social life - I’ve honestly never been so socially active in my life! The Spanish culture to be social is probably one of my most favorite things I’ve adapted to since moving. It’s so important to prioritize your relationships ❤️ 2. I no longer feel the need to conform to societal pressures & timelines - this one was HUGE for me. Living in the US I felt a massive amount of pressure to follow these societal pressures and timelines of getting a college degree, getting married, buying a house, having kids, and all by a certain age. Moving to Spain had made me realize how absurd it all is and that the only right course is following your own timeline and whatever path feels right for you. 3. I am able to travel more - I’m not saying that you can’t travel a lot while living in the US, just that it’s much more affordable to travel on this side of the pond and that (in general) people get more time off work to be able to do so. 4. I’m much more relaxed - I’m so grateful for this one. Personally, I’m much more relaxed living in Spain because the lifestyle is much slower and calmer compared to the US. I don’t have to worry about the hustle culture, I don’t have to feel guilty about missing work or an event because I’m not feeling well, I don’t have to worry as much in terms of safety or if I can afford healthcare.. 5. I have a more active lifestyle - again, you can have an active lifestyle anywhere you live. However, for me, I’m more active in Spain because I’m able to walk almost everywhere, I’m constantly out doing things, and I just notice that I’m more physically active than I was before. #lifeinspain #americanlivinginspain #americanlivingabroad #lifeabroad #vivaespaña #abroadlife #immigrantstories
