The way AI is being force-fed to us and slowly infiltrating so many parts of the internet is really creeping me out, making me worry about how it is affecting the environment, and concerning me that the value of human-made art is quickly being replaced by cheap and easy AI generated images. My response to this dread is to spend more time working on tactile, handmade projects this year and my first one is this hand-painted button. I wanted to make this as analog as possible, down to hand-carving the stamp and hand-cutting the buttons instead of using a paper punch. Redrawing AI “art” is a touchy subject, but imo if the image is already out there then the damage is done and you might as well wrong some good out of it by using it as a prompt for ACTUAL creativity - this doesn’t mean YOU should go out there and make your OWN ai images as part of a base/to prompt your artistic process.
