Date: July 29th - July 31st, 2023 Location: Antioch, Tennessee Victim: April Holt (29) Perpetrator: Donovan Armon Holt (33) Cred: People/Solvethecase/Nashville.Gov/WTVC/JustThoughtLounge/NewsChannel9 Two weeks after asking for a divorce, April Holt was discovered uncønscious in her bathroom, with a plastic bag tàped around her heàd. April’s 7-year-old son found his mother after his father instructed him to check on her. Donovan Holt, April’s husband, immediately called 911, and she was taken to the hospital. Despite being placed on life support for two days, she ultimately passed away from her injuries. The Medical Examiner ruled April’s deàth a suìcide; but after much push from April's mother Jamie, the case would be reopened. Jamie told People Magazine, that after seeing her daughter on life support with brùises on her neck, ankles and brøken blood vessels on her cheeks, “she knew [April] had been victímized by another person.” The "person" she suspected was Donovan. Jamie further went on to say, that her daughter previously attempted to leave Donovan, but never went through with it. However; this time April was serious. After April’s death, Donovan moved with their son to Texas, limiting contact with Jamie. Jamie requested her daughter’s full case file and filed a complaint with the Community Review Board, which forced a review of the handling of April’s case. This caused the department to do a second investigation into April’s death. The findings didn’t initially change anything in the case, but gave Jamie more information about what officers may have dismissed. The investigation stated April had no marks on her bødy which would indicated traùma; however, her aùtopsy would suggest otherwise. The most shocking evidence indicated only Donovan’s fingerprints were on the bag and tape arøund April’s nèck. With this, Jamie sent Donovan a screenshot of the report and told Donovan that he could either tell her what happened or she was going to the police. According to Jamie, Donovan called her and confessed that during an argument; he strángled April, dràgged her into the shower, and tàped the bàg over her head to make it look like a súicíde. He eventually confessed to police and was charged with “reckless homicide, evidence tampering, and false reporting.” He plead guilty. This verdict was to Jamie’s dismay, as she felt that Donovan should be charged with first-degree múrder and child endan̈germent. His sentencing has been scheduled for February 18th, 2025. April was a content creator and lash technician. She leaves behind a 12-year-old daughter from a previous relationship and a son. Please keep them in your prayers. May April Rest in Peace. #aprilholt #Tennessee #fyp
