homemade backpacking dinner recipe 👇🏼 One of the best ways to start dehydrating your own meals is to take inspiration from meals you can already find at the store!! These typically are going to rehydrate pretty well and will be an okay texture when you add water, and it’s something I know I’ll already like after hiking 10+ miles in a day. It’s actually crazy to line out how much cheaper it can be to make this at home. In this one evening I was able to make 9 servings comparable to one bag of chili mac, which cost me $27 total, so $3 per meal. But, one of our biggest gripes with premade backpacking meals is that 460 calories isn’t going to be enough for me after a huge day of hiking, so being able to add more food, more calories, and more protein to our meals is another one of the reasons I started making our own!! Check out the cost breakdown at the end of the video, it really surprised me!! This video is a little different than our usual ones because it was actually originally filmed for YT, and you can watch the whole video and get a more in depth recipe over there!!
