Replying to @bbg 1st water change on my patio pond in 4 months 🫣 During the #winter: If you live in a temperate region, you can use perennial plants and have a patio pond year round with no heater and typically no filter. Some plants may go dormant or slow their growth which is why many people take down their patio ponds and restart them in spring time during “pond season” which allegedly is a thing. If you get frost in your region perhaps have a small heater run at night. Patio ponds are smaller bodies of water so be careful as they can freeze completely solid which can kill the fish. You can find out which region/plants can grow or over winter in your area online. The fish during this time period slow their metabolism a lot and therefore dont grow/eat much until the spring. I still lightly feed mine once a week but ive noticed they havent eaten any additional food in a month. They nibble on plant roots and pond snails. #fish #DIY #pond #aquascape #patiopond #minipond #watergarden #solarpower #fyp #backyardpond #nature #plants #gardening #outdooraquarium #fishtok #plantedtank #fishkeeping #waterchange #minnow #raccoon #gay #lgbt #aquarium
