In regards to specificity in training, the body will adapt to the damands it receives. In other words if you want to have strong legs then train legs, if you want to sprint fast then sprint often. Max velo sprinting generates high force in a short period of time which stimulates an increase in muscle activation at high velocities as well as motor unit firing rates. Long term exposure to this creates neurological adaptations to the body that will ultimately increase the speed of an athlete. Athletes, including youth athletes, with limited exposure to regular sprint work with begin to see neurological adaptations rapidly. 👏
