I had been working there for 3 months already by the time I made this because I was always on the verge of quitting but because of proximity to where I lived and my circumstances at the time I needed to stay. I didn’t want to promote JCPenney, but I believed in the brands and the message of “inclusive beauty “ that
#jcpenneybeauty loves to pride over. What a JOKE when the the people who work for the company were both secretly raycist & colorist. The crazy part is that I never expected this from my boss because she is a Mexican Latina. A Morena! A couple shades lighter than me and had the AUDACITY to act superior. I knew something was off about her when she told me she was “Spanish & native”. It was like pulling teeth to get her to just admit that she is Mexican, I almost feel bad for her. I didn’t realize then that some people still carry a lot of shame in their Mexican heritage. Which speaks more about where we live. Because if they weren’t treated so badly then people wouldn’t trying to ethnically pass as yt. I was rewarded for this by getting my hours severely cut, my manger wouldn’t communicate with me about what tasks needed to be done so she could set me up to make it seem like I wasn’t doing anything. I knew something was off when on my first day she complained about one of my coworkers to ME! That was my first indicator that she might act like that towards me someday & it didn’t take long. Was starting rumors with the other managers that I had problems with them when I barely worked with the other managers. Just messy for no reason. Which is why I called her Messy Melissa. After I reported her I only worked with her 2 more times a couple months apart. The last time I worked with her, she complained to the supervisor and said she “didn’t feel safe around me”! How typical! Tryin to pull some phony “I’m afraid” act to get me fired, then ended up taking the TRASH out herself and chose to leave before she could get fired. I still stand by all of the brands I showed except 1. I have a bone to pick with @KimChi Chic Beauty for not carrying their full line of foundation in the store. I understand that the brands have to pay for the space in the store and THEY select which products go in. Why wouldn’t you carry every shade?!
#exabeauty carries 42 different shades and they are ALL available in store! & they are a smaller company! Fix it!
