As many as you know; Creeper was our 12 year old disabled cat who had a disability called Chiari Malformation (her type has never been documented). Creeper was a patient of my husband’s back around 2012 and was relinquished in his care. At that time - she had always been a healthy pet. When she was around 9 years old she started to walk very differently (ataxic/neurological) and was very nimbly. We did a CT/MRI and that’s when she was diagnosed with her disease. She gradually became immobile by 2023. This meant we would assist her every day to eat, go potty, do physical therapy-etc. January of last year (2024) - on the 1 year anniversary of my father’s passing, Creeper had labored breathing and we diagnosed her with HCM. This was a lot on her lil body on top of her already difficult disability. Without getting into too many details (too much to put here but am happy to answer questions- ask below). She was with us vet people around the clock and she was living her best life. On April 30, 2024 we had some fluid drained in her chest (which we had to do routinely and she did great with). A while after that, we believe she threw a clot and passed away quickly and comfortably. . .She was surrounded by the best medical team and people. With that being said- if you have followed us for a while- you’d see that she would wear nail caps on her back toenails to prevent her from scratching her eyes/face due to phantom itches… (part of her disease). I would match my nails to Creepers to make sure she knew it was okay to be different 😂). I wanted to memorialize Creeper by having a tattoo done of her piggies on my back, surrounded in a bouquet of flowers (representing me and my husband), with her nose print on my neck and paw prints on my back. I informed my amazing tattoo artist @Patrick Cat Tattoo of what I wanted, and he delivered beyond my expectation. This post is long overdue…. But grief is a tricky thing.
