If you know, you know. We are not to look like the world, for as Jesus followers, we are to be separate and set apart. I know the holiday truths are hard to accept, I once would have made a case to justify participating in festivities but it all comes down to WWJD. What would Jesus do? Would he cut down and adorn a tree? No. (Jeremiah 10:3) Would he ask parents to teach children about an idol that magically comes to give gifts?(1 John 5:21) Absolutely not. It’s fairly simple to those with eyes to see that Jesus is not what Christmas is. He wasn’t born this season, his word never told us to celebrate it but unfortunately the lies of this holiday have been told for so long, those who opt out of this pagan tradition are mocked, scoffed at and ridiculed but just as Paul said “we delight in our persecution”. For we know broad is the road that most are on so the narrow path is evident. However; it is still our jobs as Christians to tell the truth and point people back to Jesus! I pray this holiday series on truths has helped someone or at least made some stop to question the why’s of Christmas traditions. May God bless you for being obedient and committed to Christ.
