Share this so I can hopefully find the thief! If anyone sees someone wearing/ with this dress, it was stolen!!!! A little backstory to this: I made this custom prom dress for an out of state client. When the dress was completed & she forwarded her final payment, I had arranged for doordash to pick up the package & drop it off at UPS. Up to this point, I had only used doordash to refund Amazon packages but being that I was in a time crunch I thought it would save me some time. When the drop off was “completed” I did not get a receipt as promised to confirm that it had made it to the post office. I gave it about 10 minutes, looked up the tracking information & nothing updated showing that it had been retrieved. I called doordash & they said they would have the driver get the package back and return it to me since I did not get a receipt and that likely meant that something must’ve been wrong with the shipping information. I felt like that was a cover up response because if something was wrong with the package why not contact me and let me know instead of just leaving it there? 🫠 An hour went by with no update, I called UPS directly and they said that I should give it some time & not to worry because the package should update by the next day. I contacted doordash again to get an update about the driver’s whereabouts, they said that the driver was adamant about dropping it off & basically wasn’t going to be returning it. They tried to reassure me & said that if 20 business days goes by without the package being updated in the UPS system then I’d be eligible for a PARTIAL refund for the value of the dress. 🙁 Long story short, I did everything I could. I even put in a search request with UPS. It’s been months now and the dress I spent months making is still gone. I just don’t understand how someone could steal a package that is clearly from a small business owner just trying to make ends meet. Not only that but stealing it & having no conscious or remorse. Especially after opening it and seeing that it’s a custom dress & is only meant to fit one person in this world you decided to still keep it. Days went by & I still was hoping for the dress to somehow end up on my doorstep. Of course I had refunded my client & luckily she had enough time to find a replacement dress. You won’t catch me using Doordash or anything of that sort on my worst day! #promdress #custompromdress #blackgirldress #blackgirlprom #prom2025 #promdesigner
