This is a 4th generation dry cleaners guide for removing a blood stain: 1) Rinse with cold water* 2) Treat with hydrogen peroxide (an enzymatic stain remover that includes protease (enzyme that breaks down protein) will work too but is less fun and effective) 3) Wash on cold 4) INSPECT before tumble drying. If the blood stain didn't come out, we have a bit more work to do 5) Repeat steps 2 and 3 but let the HP sit on the stain for a bit longer. OR soak in hot water (140F/60C+) and powdered oxygen bleach (which creates hydrogen peroxide when exposed to water) for a few hours and rewash. 6) Enjoy your clean item :) *I did a side experiment testing 4 blood stains: two fresh (left for about two hours) and two old blood stains (a few days old). Two rinsed and washed in cold, two rinse and washed in hot. Turns out that the hot water swatches had stains remaining while the cold were completely removed. I highly recommend using COLD WATER when working on blood stains. I am aware this goes against a video I made a few years ago so please note that results have varied for me.
