What a year!! That saying, “you don’t know how strong you are until strong is the only choice you have” was 2024 in a nutshell… Peaks: finished my last chemo infusion, became CHSWF 1st Education Outreach Administrator, had a solo weekend in the mountains, road trips with my favorites, speaking at the inaugural Bite the Power by @blackfoodfridays , swam in a cave in Mexico, got Pelly my @onepeloton , got to visit home for the 1st time since my cancer diagnosis (it took almost a whole year due to my treatment and surgery schedule), went on my first breast cancer retreat, my sister visiting twice, ATL sister friend weekend, and getting to spend Christmas with my people. Valleys: my body struggled with coming off chemo drugs (the sickest I’d ever felt the whole process), accidentally being sent home after surgery without pain meds, struggling with survivorship, having 3 surgeries and all the recovery time, navigating chemo induced menopause, gaining additional specialist to access additional cancer risks, excessive weight gain, and just trying to navigate a new life post cancer. That’s a whole lot in 12 months! Lol You’ll be happy to know I have signed the petition to be taken off the “Strong soldier” list for 2025. I am claiming it, in advance, to be a year with more wins than losses. A year where I feel less pain and more joy. The year I start LIVING again 🩷 #lifeaftercancer #breastcanceradvocate #BreastCancerAwareness #triplenegative #cancersucks
