Instead of sitting around feeling sorry for myself, I’ve decided to live each day with joy. Embrace yourself for who you are and where you are and be appreciative and grateful for your life. When life seems like it can’t get any worse, you have to remember… you’ll survive everything except your own death. You’ve overcome everything you’ve ever faced, even when it seemed impossible. In 6 days I’ll be having a double mastectomy with reconstruction and my body will never be the same again, but that doesn’t mean I won’t learn to love the new body I’m in, just as I have done before. Breast cancer affects 2.5 million women a year…A YEAR! In 2024 over 300,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer and over 40,000 died from it. Early detection helps save lives. I’m forever grateful that my breast cancer was found early enough that my life will be spared, but there are so many women in their 20s and 30s who are diagnosed and they aren’t so lucky. Please make sure you are checking your tatas for anything that seems out of the ordinary and prioritize your health with regular OBGYN visits. Thank you to @mariannelucasphotography for taking these beautiful pictures and capturing my joy and to @styledbycelene for making me feel gorgeous. I’ll be so happy I have these as I recover and rebuild my confidence. Take the pictures, wear the ball gown and check those tatas!
