There is no such thing as zero avalanche risk but this trail has relatively low slope angles which minimize the risk. ๐ Quandary Peak Trail (Winter Route) ๐๏ธ Date Visited: 12/21/2024 ๐ต No trailhead parking fee in winter. ๐ Paved road to trailhead and plowed parking lot. ๐
ฟ๏ธ Decent sized parking lot. ๐ฅพ 6.3 miles RT, 3,333โ of elevation. โ๏ธ Micro spikes & snowshoes recommended depending on the conditions. ๐ฅถ Bring layers, it can be warm on the hike up but it will likely be windy at the peak. โฐ Start early to avoid afternoon storms & post-holing. โ Be prepared for inclement weather. ๐ง Make sure to stay hydrated. ๐ 14,000โ peak, be prepared for the elevation. ๐ฆฎ Dogs on leash. (Pack out dog poop) ๐ป Porta-potties at the trailhead. โ
