Just because it looks good, doesn’t mean it is. Most of the “fun” food you see, is not good for you! We talked about how food isn’t just about taste—it’s about fueling our bodies to live the life we want. That’s why we don’t embrace all the snacks. It’s not about being ‘mean’ or ‘strict,’ but about showing love through the choices we make. ❤️ Thats why when we get the candy and cookies during the holidays at events, we enjoy a few, and discard the rest. Here’s what I told them: 1️⃣ Food is fuel—what we eat powers how we feel, think, and grow. 2️⃣ Food is love—it’s how we take care of ourselves and each other. 3️⃣ Health is life—when we treat our bodies well, we can enjoy more of what matters most. It’s never an easy conversation, but it’s one worth having. Especially with the flashy colors and advertising designed to get our kids hooked on fuel that could have seriously long term consequences for them. We’re teaching our kids how to value their health for the long term, and that’s the ultimate act of love. 💕 It’s not always easy, and we tend to work one ingredient at a time. But it’s definitely worth it! I learn just as much as they do along the way.
