How to make maple candied nuts! Every year I make these maple candied pecans as a holiday treat for my friends and family. This year I made three other nuts too, walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts. They are always a huge hit, and super easy to make. Ingredients: 1. 3 cups nut of choice 2. 3/4 cup maple syrup 3. 1/2 tsp salt 4. 1 tsp vanilla extract Instructions: STEP 1. In a pot over medium heat, add all of your ingredients and bring the syrup up to a bubbling simmer. STEP 2. Mix the nuts with a rubber spatula as the syrup simmers, making sure you coat all of the pecans. Do this for 10-15 minutes until most of the liquid has evaporated. Once all of the syrup has evaporated and the sugar has thickened around the pecans, turn off the heat. STEP 3. Lay the nuts on a sheet tray and spread in an even layer. Let them cool / dry for 20 minutes. After the 20 minutes you should have hardened candied pecans! If they are still sticky, that means you didn’t thicken the syrup enough and they need to go back in the pot to cook the rest of the way! Store them at room temperature in a bag or jar and enjoy!
