Donald Trump was sworn in Monday inside the U.S. Capitol Rotunda as the 47th U.S. president, saying "America's decline is over." “The journey to reclaim our republic has not been an easy one, that I can tell you," Trump said in his inaugural address. "Those who wish to stop our cause have tried to take my freedom, and indeed to take my life." During the ceremony, which was held inside the U.S. Capitol Rotunda due to cold weather, Trump promised to sign a series of executive orders, including ending the Green New Deal and declaring a national emergency at the southern border. “With these actions, we will begin the complete restoration of America and the revolution of common sense," Trump said. Trump's inauguration marks the second time a U.S. president will return to office in non-consecutive terms and the first time a convicted criminal took the oath of office.
