What does it mean to be rich? 🧐 Our Lord has some serious things to say about and to the wealthy in Scripture. When we say rich, we don't mean "tons of money in the bank" or a "high net worth." You can have those things and still be quite bankrupt of what truly matters. A rich life as a Catholic is one of obedience to the Lord, shared in an intentional way with other disciples, with good stewardship of ALL resources leading the way. Money is one of those. But we will all be called to steward different amounts in our life...so does that mean some can't be rich? Nope. We are all called to a life rich in love, surrender, faithfulness, friendship, trust, holiness, and more. Our finances ought to reflect that reality with the unique vocation God calls us to. While we talk about money here, we refuse to accept the world's definition of "rich" in such simple terms. We see it through the lens of eternity, where the lasting and most precious riches will never fade.
