Replying to @deptstoreco It’s time I fill you all in on what’s really been happening in my life the last year. There’s a reason I’ve ignored your questions about midwifery school. As I state in the video, please do NOT send negativity to anyone because of this post. It can only make things worse. My goal in sharing this is not to call out my institution or anyone else, but to continue what I started, because I believe the work of midwives is important and should be shared. I think hopeful midwives deserve to understand the realities of the profession so they can make good career choices for themselves. And I think if more people understood midwifery, maternity care would improve. Replying to @jkat16 The best word I can use to describe this whole experience was traumatic. It sort of fractured my perspective on midwifery for the better part of 2024. I just would have never imagined other midwives, people I admired, to so aggressively threaten my career. I can take accountability that the way I present my perspective might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Maybe I can word things better at times. I also accept the fact that people can disagree about whether creating content on social media is professional or not. What I will probably never fully understand is why I couldn’t have been included in the conversation, given a warning, or an opportunity to correct myself. That all being said, I have forgiven, moved on, and I hold no ill will towards anyone involved. So please, do NOT send negativity to my school or anyone involved. This unfortunate situation taught me a lot about myself, what I want, and motivated me to pour much-needed love and energy back into my company. I look forward to sharing more details about my journey to midwifery, this time, in a more authentic way. No sugar coating it. The SWAE and comprehensive exams are practice tests for the midwifery board certification exam. It is the last barrier to graduating a midwifery program. Last year, despite having an A in the course, I was failed out of the blue because of my Tik Tok. I wasn’t allowed to take this exam in 2023. After waiting more than a year, I was finally allowed to take it. #midwifery #certifiednursemidwife #mastersdegree
